Interview Questions
The question section of a job interview is the stage of the process that is most like to worry candidates and make them nervous. Some candidates are so intent on trying to give the 'right' answer or tell the interviewer what they think they want to hear, that they can come across as false or insecure.
The best advice for answering interview questions is to stay calm, listen carefully, speak clearly, tell the truth and make your answer relevant. Before you jump in with any response, make sure that you have understood the question; think about it carefully and consider why it has been asked and what the interviewer wants to find out. This will give you the opportunity to answer the question in detail and present yourself in the best light.
In this section we take a look at some of the question styles that interviewers may use, and how you should deal with them. We also have some advice on how to answer the dreaded final question of many interviews: "Do you have any questions you would like to ask us?". Some well thought-out questions from you at this point can help demonstrate your enthusiasm and interest in the job and the organisation and will make a strong and lasting final impression.
